Today at Crossfit Champions

Today’s workout or WOD was not a normal workout. For me, it was a Benchmark day. A day that I could measure where  I am, and more importantly, where I want to go.

Fitness for me is about fun.. and relaxation, well relaxation after intense physical action.  But you need to have some kind of plan, a rough organized path to follow.

I’m still a fan of a “kaotic”  approach to health but even in chaos you will find an underlying consistency that can lead to change.

Today we found our 1 Rep Max in:

  • Back Squat
  • Military Press
  • Deadlift

I have never known what my 1 Rep Max is in any of these lifts. I do now!

  • Back Squat 245Lbs
  • Military Press 125Lbs
  • Deadlift 245Lbs

My “CrossFit Total” is 615. This  puts me in the Novice category for this test or measurement.

I want to get into the Intermediate category of this WOD(?) Two ways to do this :

  1. Loose an insane amount of weight
  2. Make a plan to gain the strength needed to get into the intermediate category.

I need to get 722 Lbs moved.

Plan –

  • Practice Squats and more specifically, depth of my squats.
  • Practice Overhead Press – Use Kettlebells combined with Barbells. Chest Up & elbows forward.
  • Deadlift more. The more you deadlift, the better you’ll become. Try  to deadlift twice a week: once light, once heavy.
