You see a lot of advertisements for specific training programs that promise “Great Strength Gains”, “Add More Muscle” and “Lose X lbs of Fat in X Days”. Do these work? Are they any different from what you’re doing now?
You’ll never know until you try them for yourself.
I’m trying a program designed by a Master RKC named Geoff Neupert called Kettlebell Burn 2.0. It’s based on a proven format that has been successful for Geoff in his earlier Olympic lifting days, only modified with an emphasis on kettlebells.
It comes with a great explanation of why you do what you do, to lose fat. The by-product of this program is that you get extremely lean and strong. I like the fact that it claims to do all the things that I’m looking for.
The only catch is that you must follow a specific regimen for a specific period of time. This is where I always have issues.
I’m not one to stay on any set path and consequentely I never seem to get where I want to be.
The fact is I’ll never get to be where I want to be becasue fitness is a journey that is never finished. However I think I used this fact to get out of making myself more accountable for progress.
I want to progress. Then I need to state my goals and follow through with a program to get me to these goals.
Ok, here is my main goal. – Lose 10 pounds of FAT. Not just 10 lbs weight, but I want to lose fat, I want to get lean.
My weight is 195, according to my scale I’m at 20% body fat (Iknow its not correct but until I get measured I’ll use this)
Start the program!
The issue is how to incorporate it into my Crossfit experience. I love the group training atmosphere and I can’t leave that to pursue my goals. The challenege will be how can I fit my goals into my Crossfit.
I let you know.
One more little thing…
Fat loss is about training, but it also has a HUGE nutritional component. I’m not perfect but if I want to lose fat, my diet will play a pivitol role. Kettlebell Burn comes with a nutrional section so he doesn’t leave you hanging. He’s giving you the full package.
I started the program yesterday. 45-60 minutes of work. A bit more than my Crossfit WOD’s on some days, but more similar to my earlier kettlebell training days with Jay Armstrong at the Kettlebell Club.
Kind of a return to my roots, just a little more specific.
One more thing, and thia is a big thing. How to you fight boredom with repeating the same workout session after session? Kettlebell Burn has changes by the week in both weight used, reps used and exercises, but will it be enough to keep me focused.
We’ll see….
